GUEST POST from Joyful Day Of Writing

Welcome to my creative corner! If you want to personalize your reading I have an idea for you!:)
I found a way to make some really cute and fun bookmarks. It makes reading so much more enjoyable! They are super easy to make and the images are free! Also if you like writing stories like me than you can make one personalized to your own book! Just find an image that reminds you of your story.:)

Here's what you will need:
-A page of heavier papersketch book paper will work...(I used some old photo album pages and they worked perfectly. You just need a paper heavy enough that you think will make the book mark a little stiff.)
-Scissors (Make sure they are sharp)
-Glue stick (Any glue works...but thick glue like Elmer's wrinkles the paper)
- Laminating paper or contact paper.
- Printed out image for book mark.

Step one: Google vintage bookmarks or what ever kind of image you want. I chose vintage. Here is the website I found that had some cute ones. You have to scroll down a little ways past the first picture to get to the pdf. where you can then print it off. https://www.vintageglamstudio.com/2013/09/28/free-printable-download-romantic-rose-bookmarks/

If you already have an image laying around your house that works too. If you have an old calendar with good background pictures you can use that. Just cut it into bookmark form. If you can't see any websites with free printable bookmarks...You can also go on google images, find an image and download it. After you do that, crop it if you need to, and then print it. *Make sure you print out two images, one for the front of the book mark and one for the back!*

Step two: Cut out the image you just printed off. Next cut the heavy paper  into the same size. You may use the image as a guide. Cut out the second image.

Step three: Glue the first image onto one side of the heavy paper and the second onto the other side of the paper. Wait for it to dry. If you use a glue stick you can go right to step four. (If you want to add your own decorum to it now is the time!)

Step four: Measure out your laminating paper and cut out what you need. Lay it flat and smooth onto the book mark. Cover both sides with it. Make sure you cut it a little longer and wider then is the size of you book mark. Cut away the excess but leave some extra so it makes like a tiny border around the book mark. This will make the bookmark stronger, less bendable and also makes the adhesive stick together.

Extra link: Here is another link I found that was pretty cute. I especially like the mitten and the hat ones.   http://janbrett.com/bookmarks/bookmarks.htm

There you have your bookmark! It's done! Obviously these steps I made are just a guideline and you can make yours how ever you desire and change it up a bit. You can hole punch it and add a ribbon, or add stickers before you put on the contact paper or do what ever you want. I hope this gave you some inspiration! Have fun!

                                                            Here are my results:

Exodus 35:31- He has filled him with God's Spirit, with wisdom, understanding, and ability in every kind of craft.
